Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah
Harinah Bte Abdul Latiff is a respected figure in Singapore's education and Islamic communities. She has held key roles in education, contributing to the development of academic and religious programs, particularly in leadership and administration. Known for nurturing young Muslim leaders, she has played a significant role in advancing Islamic education within the madrasah system. Her work includes supporting educational leadership, curriculum development, teacher mentoring, and student welfare, ensuring holistic development. Her career reflects a commitment to academic excellence and the promotion of Islamic values.
Ustazah Sahida Shaikh Salim is a dedicated teacher who is passionate in the Arabic Language. She is well-liked by the students for her personality and sense of humour. A head of Arabic and Revealed Knowledge Department, she holds a Bachelor degree majoring in Arabic Language and Literature, with a minor in Economics from IIUM.
Mdm Sofia joined the teaching staff at Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah in 2014. Initially teaching Primary Mathematics and Science, she now teaches Secondary Mathematics & Physics. In the years she taught at Madrasah Alsagoff, she was given many Professional Development (PD) opportunities, including completing a Specialist Diploma in Applied Learning & Teaching and applying Lesson Study as part of the EMMS Department's PD.
Ustazah Siti Khadijah is a dedicated educator who has been teaching for almost 20 years. An alumnus of Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah, Ustazah Siti Khadijah is also a graduate from Al-Azhar As-Syarif University with the degree in Tafseer and holds a Master's Degree in Arabic Language from Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University in Malang, Indonesia. Ustazah Siti Khadijah has a great passion in teaching the Arabic Syntax (Nahu) and Arabic Language for both primary and secondary levels. She heads the Arabic Choral Speaking Activity in the Madrasah. She has written and presented a research paper on the Preparing reading skill materials using iBook.
Before joining Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah in 2018, Madam Erna had taught Malay Language and Literature in mainstream secondary schools. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Malay Studies with Honours from University Malaya where she gained more exposure for her passion for Malay Literature. This is often shown in her fictional short stories and poems. She hopes to instill the love for Malay Literature in her students and which may eventually produce local writers in Singapore.
Ustazah Nurhayati is a graduate from Tarabulus University in Lebanon/Syria, and holds a Masters Degree in Usul Fiqh from Islah University in Lebanon/Syria in Shari'ah. She is a dedicated educator whose forte and passion is in teaching the Syariah subjects as well as the Quranic Studies in the secondary level. Ustazah Nurhayati also holds a Sanad recitation of Quran & Hadith from Syria. She has written and presented a research paper on the use of Classkick Application in the teaching and learning of Al-Quran.
Mdm Nur Khadijah holds a BA (English with Psychology) from Singapore University of Social Sciences and Diploma in Education from the NTU-NIE. She has been an Education Officer with the Ministry of Education for 20 years, teaching in several national schools before joining Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah. Her brief stint at the Overseas Family School had widened her perspective on various educational landscapes. She loves cycling, enjoys watching cooking videos and whipping up home-cooked dishes for her family.
Ustazah Saidah Nafisah is an alumnus of Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah. She is a passionate teacher who loves to engage the students by using qasidah or nasheed in her lessons. These songs or nasheed are composed from the contents of the subjects that she taught to make memorisation and learning more fun. Ustazah Saidah graduated from IIUM University with a degree in Arabic Language and Literature. She teaches Arabic Language as well as revealed knowledge subjects at the primary level.
Mdm Siti Raudhah holds a BSc (Chemistry & Biological Chemistry) from NTU. Before joining the Alsagoff family, Madam Siti Raudhah was an Editor with Marshall Cavendish Education Pte Ltd for primary and secondary science teaching and learning materials. She has had teaching stints in national and private schools, and has years of experience as a private tutor. Madam Siti Raudhah loves long bus rides and being close to nature.
Ustazah Asyunifar is an alumnus of Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah. She holds a Bachelor degree in Arabic Language and Literature from IIUM, Malaysia. She is passionate in the Arabic Language studies and teaches the Arabic Language subject for the Diploma students. She was previously a debater in Arabic Language during her university years and with the experience she has gained, she is the advisor for the Arabic Debate Club in Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah. Ustazah Asyunifar has written and presented a paper on the use of Flipgrid application in amplifying students’s voice during Arabic lessons.
Ustazah Damawiyah is a very dedicated teacher who has been teaching for more than 25 years. A senior teacher who has showcased her ability in using technology in teaching, her firm disposition is respected and loved by all students. With her disciplined approach, many students have graduated under her teachings and guidance. Ustazah Damawiyah is a mentor teacher who teaches subjects such as Arabic Syntax (Nahu), Arabic Language and Quran for both secondary and diploma levels. Ustazah Damawiyah is an Al-Azhar As-Syarif University graduate.
Ustazah Saripah holds a diploma in Islamic Studies (Preaching) and has been teaching for almost 30 years, at Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah since 1992. She likes to travel to enhance her knowledge while appreciating the wonders of Allah’s creations.
Ustazah Saniah is a passionate and enthusiastic educator. Despite her seniority in the Madrasah, she is actively improvising her lessons so that it is vibrant and current to the 21st Century education framework. She has served the madrasah for 27 years. Ustazah Saniah is a graduate from Al-Azhar As-Syarif University and is a dedicated educator specializing in the revealed knowledge subjects, especially Fiqh.
Ust Zauwiah is an alumnus of Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah. She graduated with a Bachelor degree in Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University and holds a Master's Degree in Arabic Language from UITM Malaysia. However, due to her deep interest in teaching Arabic language, she pursued her postgraduate studies--with the school’s support--in Philosophy, at the Faculty of Islamic Civilisation and has made academic presentations twice. Also, she has created the Arabic Curriculum and re-arranged the Arabic books for the Primary Levels.
Ustazah Nurulhuda, an alumnus of Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah is firm but yet an approachable teacher who makes the extra effort to help the students grow. Currently she is in charge of the Arabic Debate Club. She loves her students and never fails to help those students who are in need of extra support. She holds a Bachelor degree in Syariah from UIA, and is currently doing her masters.
Ustazah Seri is an active educator and public speaker. She contributes to the society as a volunteer helping youths at risk, giving free classes and actively taking part in organising events for the Muslim community. Ustazah Seri is a graduate from Al-Azhar As-Syarif University with a Bachelor degree in Usuluddin and has attended several dowra in Darul Zahra, Hadramaut, Yemen. Having been exposed to the Darul Zahra Hadramaut’s environment, she heads the qasidah club in the Madrasah and therefore a passionate educator, especially in the Sirah Nabawiyah subjects.
Ustazah Syafiqah is a passionate educator with strong interest in the development and wellbeing of her students. She believes in instilling strong principles while being adaptable in this unpredictable age. Ustazah Syafiqah graduated from al-Azhar university with a bachelor degree in Usuluddin. She also took a diploma in Child psychology and early interventions and is currently serving in the school as the ARK Curriculum Developer.
Ustazah Sharifah Radiah Binte Mohammed Hashim holds a BA in Islamic Jurisprudence from Al-Azhar University. She has 12 years of teaching experience before joining Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah. A passionate educator, Ustazah Sharifah Radiah has a deep love for her students and is dedicated to making learning both engaging and enjoyable. She creatively incorporates video content and educational apps into her lessons to capture her students' attention and make learning more interactive. Her innovative approach not only enhances the educational experience but also fosters a positive and dynamic learning environment for her students.
Ustaz Zubair is an alumni of Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah and graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2019, specializing in Arabic Language and Literature and minoring in Quran and Sunnah Studies. Upon graduation, he served in the mosque sector for 4.5 years. Here at Madrasah Alsagoff, he helps to oversee the Arabic Debate and Public Speaking initiatives. An interest of Ustaz Zubair is research and keeping abreast to contemporary issues, especially those which concern religion.
Madam Noorhayati is an NIE trained teacher who had taught at a national school and two other Madrasahs before joining Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah in 2013. In 2018, she attended the Management and Leadership in Schools Programme. She believes that it is very important to give back to the community and that every community should be served well. Apart from school, she enjoys spending time with her family and going on nature walks.
Mdm Balkis is a trained MOE teacher with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language & Literature. She has taught primary level English Language, Mathematics and Social Studies in National Schools. She joined Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah in 2005. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching dramas and spending quiet quality time with her family and friends.
Cikgu Aisyah has been teaching Malay Language and Malay Literature at Madrasah Alsagoff Al1Arabiah since 2014. As a creative writer who is comfortable with her pen name, Chempaka Aizim, she hopes that her contributions in both writing and teaching would be beneficial to the community and religion.
Madam Shuhannah has been teaching Science, Mathematics and English at Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah since 2016. She enjoys incorporating the use of technology in her classroom teaching as she believes that it aids in productivity and creativity. She has been given several opportunities to share her practices of using technology in her classroom teaching, one of which being the Apple Webinar on Creativity on 25 May 2021. The moments that she treasure the most are those spent with her family and her cats.
Miss Mawaddah has taught English Language and Mathematics at Primary level for 10 years before joining Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Arabiah in 2018. Her commitment as an educator stems from her love of learning and she is constantly fascinated by the development and growth of children. For leisure, she enjoys watching documentaries and travelling.
Mdm Thasneem is an avid reader who hopes to instill the love and passion for reading in her students through her teaching. She is a highly passionate teacher who finds joy in working and interacting with children and teenagers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from NUS and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from NTU-NIE. She is a recipient of the Ministry of Education’s Teaching Award and has taught English Language and History at government schools.
Ms Farhaini joined Madrasah Alsagoff in 2023 as a Learning Support Teacher. She has years of experience as a private tutor and holds a BA in International Trade and Psychology and a Diploma in Psychotherapy. With the knowledge and skills gained through her experiences, she aims to enhance students' understanding and pique their interest in the lesson. She enjoys solving puzzles, travelling, and gazing at the sky.
